Whiston & Prescot Youth Drama Group |
| WhisPre is a drama group for young people between the ages of 8 to 16 who have a genuine interest in drama. Formed in November 1997, WhisPre is a strictly voluntary organisation. Our first stage production was presented in January 1998. Musical Times To Remember was written and directed by Paul Netterfield and told the story of song and dance from the 1920's to the 1990's. Our next production was presented in December 1999. Elmyra Scrooge, a musical written by local writer David Brown. Directed by David Brown and Clare Aspinall, it was a reworking of the Charles Dickens classic tale A Christmas Carol. Bringing the story to present day with a lot of new characters in place of the originals. It told the story of the Great Granddaughter of Ebenezer Scrooge, Elmyra. Motivated by greed and the need for power, her antics put those of her famous relative to shame as she leaves behind her a trail of suffering and human misery so severe that even the Spirit of Christmas Past, Present and Future gave up the ghost on her. |
| WhisPre are currently working on their third stage production A Christmas Nightmare. Written and directed by David Brown, this production will be performed at Whiston Higherside School in December this year. The exact dates cannot be set until after the summer holiday period when the School find out what dates they have to set aside for exams. Watch this space for dates and ticket details. |
