Borough Councils) must be run in one of three ways. |
| 1.By a political leader elected by
the Councillors together with a cabinet. |
| A Civic Mayor would continue
to carry out present duties. |
| 2.By a Mayor
directly elected for 4 years supported by a cabinet of
Councillors. |
| 3.By a Mayor
directly elected every 4 years supported by a Council Manager |
| In options 2
& 3 new arrangements would need to be found for Civic
Mayoralty |
| Knowsley
Metropolitan Borough Council for
the next two months is carrying out a |
| public consultation
as to which options it should adopt. Leaflets will be distributed. |
